Welcome Letter

Dear Friends and Colleagues, 

On behalf of the Brazilian Society of Immunology (SBI), we are pleased to invite you to participate in our Annual Congress that will take place in the city of São Paulo from September 20th to 24th. We are happy to return to an in-person conference and see you again after a long period imposed by the pandemic. The health and safety of our attendees are the highest priority. Meeting organizers will be monitoring the national and international health guidelines for holding in-person events.

 The scientific program will feature the participation of renowned national and international speakers, with a special focus on the participation of young scientists. The congress will have as its guiding theme the new area of ​​knowledge within immunology, known as Immunometabolism. Thus, we will address how two disciplines, historically distinct, of biochemistry and immunology, are connected in a single area of ​​knowledge. Immunometabolism has stood out as one of the fastest-growing areas within Immunology. Over the past decade, we are advancing in our understanding of how systemic metabolic changes modulate the cellular immune profile and how immune-mediated processes depend on cellular and systemic metabolic adaptations. The program will address new advances and paradigms in the area of ​​Immunometabolism and its relationship with inflammatory, autoimmune, infectious, and tumor diseases.

 Our scientific program will build on the excellence of previous SBI congresses, with conferences, symposia, oral presentation sessions by students and postdoctoral fellows, awards, and poster sessions. The oral presentations and poster session will be given special attention so that they are the spotlight of our congress. Also, we will have a pre-course in Metabolism, targeting students and professionals who aim to become familiar with methodologies and metabolic studies within the area of ​​Immunology.

 Join us in São Paulo for IMMUNOMETABOLISM 2022 at the Frei Caneca Convention Center, located in the region of  Paulista Avenue, close to a wide range of hotels, museums and restaurants.
